WHY HE AROSE
Because of His Deity
John 8:54-59 Throughout His entire life Jesus had claimed that He was the Son of God making Himself equal with God.
John 19:7 Jesus was raised from the dead to prove to the Jews that He was who He said He was.
Romans 1:3-4 The bible teaches that the resurrection makes a declaration about the person and mission of Jesus Christ, that He indeed is the Son of God with power.
Acts 2:24-32 In Peter's message to the Jews he proved that the Old Testament spoke of Jesus resurrection and that David also declared Jesus to be God, (Lord) and David saw that Jesus Christ would be raised up out of his family tree and would be resurrected from the dead.
To Prove He was Messiah
Acts 2:36 Jesus had to be resurrected in order to prove that He indeed is the Messiah.
Matthew 11:2-6 When John was put into prison and was close to death he needed assurance.
Matthew 16:13-16 In this one incident we see Peter declaring Jesus to be the Christ (Messiah).
Psalm 16:10 The Psalmist prophesied of the resurrection of God's Holy One (Messiah).
Mark 9:9 After the three had seen Jesus glorified on the mount, Jesus foretold of His resurrection.
To Make The New Birth Possible
Romans 4:20-25 Because Jesus was resurrected and is seated at the right hand of the Father, through faith in Him we have justification in God's sight.
Romans 6:5-11 The proof of His resurrection is in every believer that has the power to overcome sin.
I Peter 1:3-5 The cross secured the atonement but it takes a living Savior to apply salvation.
Romans 10:9 The faith that we receive from God is enough to receive salvation if we trust in Christ and His resurrection from the dead.
To Allow Christ To Intercede For Us
Hebrews 7:22-25 Because of His sacrifice and resurrection, Jesus intercedes on behalf of all those who call upon the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1, 33-34 Because of His resurrection all those that trust in Him can never be condemned because of their sin.
John 14:16-17 Because He is alive and makes intercession for us we have the Holy Ghost in us.
To Make Our Resurrection Possible
I Corinthians 15:19-21 The firstfruits refer to to the first part of the harvest and also refers to the rest of the harvest that is to come. We will be “the rest of the harvest” at the time of the Rapture.
II Corinthians 4:14 Many times in his teachings Paul refers to the resurrection of Christ and that all those that belong to Him whether dead or alive at the Rapture will be resurrected also.
