In Acts 2:41-42; 4:32-34 we see a picture of the church in action. Churches are made up of people, a group of 'called out believers' baptized and committed together to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The word “Christian” appears only three times in scripture and it implies several things. (1) Acts 11:26 Implies those that followed the Lord Jesus Christ. (2) Acts 26:28 Implies that those called out Christians will be witnesses. (3) I Peter 4:16 Here it implies that Christians will suffer persecution.

Ephesians 2:8-9 The biggest problem in churches is that many church members are not saved.

II Corinthians 13:5 Paul challenged the church at Corinth to “examine yourselves”.

I John 5:13 We are instructed in the bible that we can know for sure that we are part of God's family.

Romans 6:4 Being baptized is an outward picture  and our recognition of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Baptism must be recognized as the first thing Jesus wants us to do after conversion and must be done by a proper candidate, by the proper method, and under proper authority.

Hebrews 10:25 A good and faithful member of a local church will attend all services.

Acts 14:27  A good church member will want to hear first hand issues concerning the whole body.

Ephesians 5:25 A good church member we will have a desire to part of that which Jesus died for.

I  Thessalonians  5:12-22  We are to exhort and help all members to walk worthy and in the Spirit.

II Thessalonians 3:11-15 A good church member will not be guilty of causing church dissension.

II Corinthians 6:14-17 The testimony of  a church can be destroyed by the inconsistent testimony of Christians who do not have good testimonies in the community. We must be careful about these things:

our Associations, our Activities, our Music, our Language, and our Appearance.

II Timothy 2:15 A good church member should love and study their bible in order to grow in Christ.

II Corinthians 8:1-7; II Cor. 9:6 All good members of the church should tithe and give generously to missions in order to be part of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:22-25 All good church members should strive to be Spirit filled.

I Corinthians 9:19-20; Jude 23 All good church members should have a desire to win souls.

I Corinthians 15:58; III John 1-5 As good church members we should be faithful and committed to be servants for Christ and find something to do in the local church to help further the glory of God.
