As we work together in the local New Testament church, having the right attitude is of the uppermost importance. All the talent in the world cannot make up for someone having a negative attitude within a group of people that are trying to serve our Lord together.

   A. (Love) - Matthew 22:35-38 The first and foremost issue with us must be our love for God.

   B. (Faith) - Hebrews 11:1, 6 We must have the attitude of 100% trust and confidence in God.

   C. (Thankfulness) - Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 5:20 We must be grateful toward God.

Romans 1:18-21 Godís anger is shown toward those who are unthankful.

   A. (Humility) - Romans 12:3, 16 A humble estimation of our self is the right attitude to have.

John 13:6-17 Humility is the attitude we should have regarding serving in menial tasks.

Matthew 25:21 A person who does small things well will generally do big things well also.

   B. (Teachable) - Proverbs 15:31-32 Solomon tells us that to be teachable is to be wise.

   C. (Honesty Toward Mistakes) - James 5:16 To admit our mistakes shows an honest heart.

   A. (Love) - John 13:34-35 Jesus taught us that this is His measuring stick for His children.

   B. (Cooperation) - I Corinthians 12:21 An attitude of working together as God intended.

   C. (Appreciation For Others) - I Thessalonians 5:12-13 We must have an appreciation of how others are serving the Lord as well as our self.

   D. (Submission) - Ephesians 5:21; Hebrews 13:17 The Lord wants us not only submit to authority, but also to submit to each other. How can we argue if we submit to one another?

   E. (Hospitable) - Romans 12:13; Hebrews 13:2 We must have an attitude of helping and sharing with each other.

   F. (Gentle And Meek) - Galatians 6:1; II Timothy 2:24-26 We must show a kindness and gentleness with all people, keeping a good testimony by holding fast to our convictions.

   G. (Forgiveness And Patience) - Ephesians 4:2, 32 As Satan puts bumps and detours in the local church in order to destroy the work of Christ, the attitudes of forgiveness and patience will help smooth out the times of trial and testings that will come our way.

   A. (Gratitude) - I Timothy 1:12-13 We should appreciate the honor it is to serve our King.

   B. (Enthusiasm) - II Corinthians 9:7-8 God loves a cheerful (hilarious) giver, (and worker).

   C. (Diligence) - Nehemiah 4:6 Like those that built the wall, we must stay focused on service.

   D. (Stay Positive) - Philippians 2:14 We should serve without murmurings or complaining.

   E. (Persistence) - John 4:34; II Timothy 4:7 We must have the attitude of an olympic athlete has when running a race. When trying to set a record in a race they always make sure to finish the race with a burst of energy in order not to slow down when the end is in sight.
