JESUS IS LORD
April 26, 2009
When we as Christians say that Jesus Christ is Lord, we often times do not “practice what we preach”. When the Bible talks of Jesus as Lord there are no limitations to His Lordship. If we are to be all that God wants us to be in this world for Christ, we must allow Jesus to be Lord over everything the Holy Scriptures say that He is Lord over. He is Lord of all- Philippians 2:9-11
John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17 Jesus created all things in the earth, in the heavens, visible and invisible. The creator is Lord over His creations.
John 2:7 Jesus tells nature to change when He wants it to change.
Matthew 14:25 Jesus is Lord over the natural characteristics of nature such as the sea.
Mark 4:39 Jesus is the master of the wind and waves with just a word from His mouth.
II. LIFE AND DEATH
John 11:44 Jesus raises Lazarus from the tomb to show the glory of God.
Matthew 9:25 Jesus raises the daughter of Jairus back to life.
Matthew 9:1-6 Jesus not only forgives this mans sins but also heals him to show His deity.
Luke 7:45-49 Jesus forgives the sin of the sinful woman because of her humility and faith.
IV. DISEASE AND SICKNESS
Matthew 4:23-24 Jesus is Lord over all sickness and diseases.
Luke 7:21-22 Jesus encourages John the Baptist in jail by His miracles of healing the sick.
