Here's A Story For Your Bus This Sunday!
“PLEASE GET MY MOTHER IN”
Boys and Girls, our story today takes place on a cold
rainy night, and it’s about a Preacher and a poor little
girl. One cold rainy night, a Preacher was walking home
and a little girl who was dressed in rags and walking
down the street saw the man and said, “Mister…are you a
preacher?” “Why yes, I am…”, he answered. “Would you
come down and get my mother in?”, she asked. The
Preacher looked at the little girl and said, “Well now
listen, if your mother is drunk, you’d better go get the
Policeman…that’s HIS job…I’m not dressed for the
occasion,” said the Preacher quite coldly. “Oh no
Preacher…she’s not drunk! She’s at home and she’s dying
and she’s afraid to die…she wants to go to Heaven! Can’t
you come and get her in??”, the little girl said. Well,
the Preacher went with the little night crawler and they
finally got to the place where the little girl and her
mother lived. It was a very “slummy” area, but they went
up some old rickety stairs and entered into an old dark,
dingy room where there in the corner, lay this woman.
The little girl ran toward the woman and said, “Mother,
I got the Preacher for you…now you listen to what he
tells you!” And that poor woman said, “Can you do
anything for me?? I’m a terrible sinner and I’ve sinned
my whole life away…and now I’m dying and I’m afraid
because I know I’m going to Hell and I don’t want to go
to Hell…can you do anything for me??” Well, this
Preacher didn’t know what to say! He had always told
people that if they turned over a new leaf and lived a
better life and were more cultured and refined, they’d
go to Heaven…but what good was it for him to tell this
woman that? She wasn’t refined and she didn’t have time
to reform and change her life, so he thought about what
his own mother used to tell him, and he said, “I’ll just
tell her what mother used to tell me and besides, it
won’t hurt anyway…”. So he said, “Woman, god is very
gracious and kind and in the Bible it says that He loved
the world so much that He gave His only begotten son to
die for them and if they will believe on him, they would
not perish, but have everlasting life.” “Oh,” she said,
“that should get me in, but what about my sins??” And to
his amazement, he was quoting another verse and said,
“…the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from ALL sin…”
“ALL sin did you say??, she asked. “Yes, ALL sin it
says!” “THAT should get me in,” she said. “I’m going to
take Him as my Saviour!” And right then and there, she
took Him as her own personal Saviour…and so did the
Preacher! Two of them got in that night! What about you?
Have you “got in” yet? Have you trusted the Saviour? Do
you know Him as your own? Maybe tomorrow will be too
late…don’t miss God’s Salvation…trust Christ and be
saved TODAY! |
