WORSHIP GODíS WAY
September 6, 2009
Matthew 15:8-9 Unfortunately for a lot of us, this scripture may be directed toward us if we are not careful to conduct ourselves the right way when we intend to worship our Lord.
Proverbs 14:12 Perhaps no verse of scripture in the Bible summarizes the attitude of society today than this Old Testament verse from Solomon.
Proverbs 14:14 Solomon apparently wanted us to understand that what he said in verse 12 was not only meant for the lost sinner, but also meant for we that are saved.
John 4:24 Jesus gives us insight into how all must worship God the right way.
John 6:63 The Lord here gives us a truth about worship that is greatly ignored by most people.
John 14:6 This familiar verse tells everyone that there really isnít several ways to God.
John 12:47-48 This warning is for the lost and the saved. Do we really know Godís Word?
Isaiah 55:7-9 God tells us that He doesnít think like we think, and His ways are not our ways.
I Corinthians 14:33, 40 Paul is setting down some rules that God wants followed in the church. The emphasis is on organization and order for within the churches.
Leviticus10:1-2 Here we see the sons of Aaron serving in the priesthood were killed by God for what is termed offering strange fire before the Lord.
Numbers 3:3-4 We find that the story of Nadab and Abihu was repeated here, however, there was another part of the story about Aaronís other two sons that took over the priesthood duties.
Numbers 26:60-61 This is the third time the story of Aaronís two sons is recorded in the Bible.
II Samuel 6:1-3, 6 Through this sad portion of scripture we see that good people can do wrong and sometimes pay the ultimate cost. The lesson is found in Galatians 6:7 ďBe not deceived...Ē
I Chronicles 15:11-15 Fortunately for David and Israel, they realized their mistake.
EXAMPLES FOR THE CHURCH
Judges 17:6-13 This is a story of two men of Israel. Micah didnít want to have to go all the way to the Temple to worship, and the Levite priest wanted a job. Both men were messed up bad.
Psalms 122:1 David was always the happiest when he talked about and worshiped in Godís house.
Acts 20:7 The New Testament is filled with references regarding the church worshiping God on the first day of the week.
Hebrews 10:24-25 The writer of Hebrews was moved to pen this portion of scripture for good reason. We are to help and encourage each other to worship and fellowship as often as possible.
I Corinthians 16:1-2 Once again Paul is making reference to the church meeting and giving on the first day of the week.
Malachi 3:10 The Old Testament clearly shows that we are to ďbring our tithes into the storehouseĒ. The storehouse here is another word for the church house (I Cor. 16:2 in store).
Acts 5:1-2, 5, 9-10 The story of Ananias and Sappira is a sad but true story about their false worship regarding sacrificial giving.
Romans 15:4; I Corinthians 10:11 Paul reminded the believers that all the things that happened to Israel in the Old Testament are recorded so that we might learn from their example regarding what God wants us to do and what the consequences are when we do things our way.
