"How To
Be Saved"
A Lesson

In order for a person to be SAVED, they must first realize
they are LOST. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 “So then faith
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Therefore, we see the need for the person we want to be
saved to be “exposed” to the Word of God. What does the
Bible say about how a person is to be saved. What must a
person “do” in order to be saved.
Let’s see what the Bible, God’s Holy Word has to say about
it all…
WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED??
1: Realize and Admit to God that YOU are a Sinner:
Psalms 14:1 “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no
God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works,
there is none that doeth good.”
Psalms 14:2 “The LORD looked down from heaven upon the
children of men, to see if there were any that did
understand, and seek God.”
Psalms 14:3 “They are
all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there
is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
* * * * *
Psalms 53:3 “Every one
of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
* * * * *
Isaiah 53:6 “All we
like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his
own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us
all.”
* * * * *
Isaiah 64:6 “But we
are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are
as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our
iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
* * * * *
Matthew 5:20 “For I
say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in
no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
* * * * *
Romans 2:11 “For there
is no respect of persons with God.”
* * * * *
Romans 3:10 “As it is
written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
(Does this look familiar to you? Do you remember Psalm
14:1-3 and Psalm 53:3??)
Why are there “…none
righteous, no, not one…? The Bible gives us the answer in
Romans 3:23....
Romans 3:23 “For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
And look at James 2:10
which tells us, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and
yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
And look at James 4:17
which reminds us that when we KNOW to do good and choose not
to do it, it is sin. There it says, “Therefore to him that
knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
SO WHAT MUST I DO TO
BE SAVED??
1:
Realize and Admit to
God that YOU are a Sinner, but then . . .
2: Realize that God has
established a Payment for Sin:
Look at what the Bible
says in these verses . . . .
Matthew 25:41 “Then
shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from
me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil
and his angels:”
* * * * *
John 3:18 “He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.”
* * * * *
John 3:36 “He that
believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that
believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of
God abideth on him.”
* * * * *
Romans 6:23 “For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
* * * * *
Romans 14:12 “So then
every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
* * * * *
Hebrews 9:27 “And as
it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment:”
* * * * *
Revelation 20:12 “And
I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the
books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the
book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works.”
Revelation 20:13 “And
the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and
hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were
judged every man according to their works.”
Revelation 20:14 “And
death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.”
Revelation 20:15 “And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast
into the lake of fire.”
* * * * *
Revelation 21:8 “But
the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
* * * * *
Revelation 21:27 “And
there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that
defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh
a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of
life.”
God has established a
payment for sin that we all deserve to pay. Boy, that is BAD
NEWS, wouldn't you agree? But God has some GOOD NEWS for you
today...YOU can be Saved from the penalty of sin that you
owe!!
WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED??
3: Realize that while God
hates your Sin, He Loves YOU and Wants YOU to be Saved:
The Bible plainly
tells us that while God hates sin, that He still loves each
of us and wants us to be saved so that we can be with Him in
Heaven one day!
Look at what His
Precious Word, the Holy Bible, says....
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now,
and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins
be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
* * * * *
Isaiah 53:5 “But he
was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and
with his stripes we are healed.”
* * * * *
John 3:14 “And as
Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must
the Son of man be lifted up:”
John 3:15 “That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
eternal life.”
John 3:16 “For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.”
John 3:17 “For God
sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.”
John 3:18 “He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.”
* * * * *
John 14:6 “Jesus saith
unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
* * * * *
Romans 5:6 “For when
we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for
the ungodly.”
Romans 5:7 “For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure
for a good man some would even dare to die.”
Romans 5:8 “But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:9 “Much more
then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through him.”
* * * * *
Romans 5:20 “Moreover
the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where
sin abounded, grace did much more abound:”
* * * * *
Romans 6:23 “For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
* * * * *
1 Corinthians 15:1
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I
preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein
ye stand;”
1 Corinthians 15:2 “By
which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I
preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”
1Corinthians 15:3 “For
I delivered unto you first of all that which I also
received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures;”
1 Corinthians 15:4
“And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to
the scriptures:”
* * * * *
Ephesians 1:13 “In
whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye
believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
Ephesians 1:14 “Which
is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of
the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
* * * * *
Ephesians 2:8 “For by
grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
Ephesians 2:9 “Not of
works, lest any man should boast.”
* * * * *
Galatians 2:16
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the
law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed
in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of
Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of
the law shall no flesh be justified.”
So if God loves us
that much, what must I do to be saved?
Again, let's look at
what the Word of God has to say about it . . . .
WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED??
4: Ask God to Forgive You
and By Faith Accept God’s Payment for YOUR Sin:
This question is one
that many people have asked through the years . . . .
Acts 16:30b “. . .
Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
Acts 16:31 “And they
said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved, and thy house.”
Acts 16:32 “And they
spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in
his house.”
Acts 16:33 “And he
took them the same hour of the night, and washed their
stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.”
Acts 16:34 “And when
he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them,
and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.”
If we will be willing
to admit to God that we realize that we are a sinner and
deserve to pay the penalty for sin, which is death and
separation from God in a place called Hell, and personally
accept GOD'S PAYMENT for our sin, which was His giving of
His own beloved Son, Jesus Christ, then we too can be saved!
As Paul explained to
the Philippian jailor in Acts 16:31, "Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."
Will YOU be willing to
accept God's gift of Salvation today? Why not repent of your
sins and ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins right now?
He is willing to save you NOW if you would only come to Him
in faith, believing that He will save you! |
