Here's A Story For Your Bus This Sunday!

“BRANDED!”

Boys and Girls, our story today is about being BRANDED! Boys and Girls…Moms and Dads…are YOU “Branded”?? You may say, “I’m not branded…”, but, oh YES, YOU ARE!! People all around you know you for wearing some type of a brand! You know…when a person drinks beer or wine…he is branded as a drunkard! When you are a bandit or a criminal of some sort, perhaps a bank robber, then you have a brand on you as a Thief! Yes, people know you for what you are! Well, years ago in the western states, when the cattle just roamed on the open prairies, and there were only a few roads and no fences, in the early Spring, when the mother cows had their little baby calves, then each farmer would go out and locate all their new calves. And they would take a hot branding iron with them and they would brand those little calves so people would know who those new calves belonged to. One day, one rancher said to another rancher, “Hey, you just put your brand on my calf!” “Oh, no I didn’t…” “Oh, yes you did!! And I can prove it!” “Oh, really?? How can you prove it?” “Let’s let the calf go to it’s mother, and we’ll see which brand it’s mother has on it…” And sure enough…the little calf ran right over to it’s mother and the mother cow had the first farmer’s brand on it. So the first farmer was right, and they had to go back and take off the other farmer’s brand and brand the calf with the first farmer’s brand! Now Boys and Girls…if you’re a Christian, and you know the Lord Jesus as your own personal Saviour, you ought to wear a “Brand” so people will know who YOU belong to! The Apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:17 “…I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” He meant that there was something about his life that let people know that he was a Christian! It’s so easy to say “I believe in the Lord!” when you go to Sunday School, but do you say that when you go to School on Monday or the rest of the week? When you’re out with the rest of the boys and girls, and they’re swearing and telling dirty stories, and doing things that they shouldn’t do, do you show your colors for Jesus then? If you’re a real Christian, then you ought to show your brand…you ought to show who you belong to…you ought to show that you’re real and not a hypocrite…you’re a Christian, so you need to stand up and stand out for the Lord Jesus Christ! The Bible says in Romans 10:11, “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Are you ashamed of the Lord Jesus? Do you show your brand? I hope you do, if you’re a Christian! And if you’re not, whose brand are you wearing today?? Why not trust the Lord Jesus and accept Him as your Saviour today? Then you too will have the “Right Brand”!
