BUS  ROUTE  AREA

When I was a boy, we went to several different Churches. We attended the Moravian Church for a while, where I sang in the children's choir and was later sprinkled. I was basically a "good kid", but I did not realize that I was lost and needed to be saved. Later, a Church on the north side of Winston-Salem began to run a bus by our house, so I began riding that bus to Sunday School and Church. I rode the bus for several years and knew most of all the other kids on the route. Some of those kids were good and some were not. I knew that some of those kids needed to be saved or something, but never saw myself as being "that bad". I went on Church visitation with the teenagers and even helped visit on the Bus route with the Captain and workers, but never really thought much about getting saved until I heard the Preacher one Sunday quote Romans 3:23 and said that "ALL" included everybody. The Spirit of God began to use the Word of God to speak to my heart through other areas as well and on other occasions. Finally, on Friday afternoon, March 28, 1975, I was so under conviction that when I came home from school I went to my mom and dad's back bed room and called my several teachers to see if they could show me how to be saved, but none of them were home. Then I remembered about a Soul-Winner's New Testament I had been given in VBS, so I went and read through each page that it said to turn to in order to be saved. There in that bed room, as a 15 year old boy, I bowed on my knees and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins and save me. Oh what a day! Two and a half months later, my Bus Captain resigned and I, as a 16 year old boy that didn't even have a driver's license, became the Bus Captain on that Bus Route. The dear Lord God had a plan for this Bus kid. He saved me and later made me a Bus Captain, and then called me to preach His precious Word...oh, what a Saviour is mine!
